Discover the possibilities

Exploring new collaborations and partnerships is at the core of the Leiden-Delft-Erasmus Universities (LDE) and the LDE Space for Science & Society Programme. We believe this is important in order to be better able to bridge the gap between knowledge and the application of knowledge, and to bridge the (future) questions from industry and society and the way in which the talents of the future are prepared to answer these questions. In particular for the LDE Space educational programmes we strive for involvement of the space sector to allow the students to experience working with the sector and working on actual interdisciplinary space challenges. Within our educational programmes see plenty of opportunities to strengthen cooperation in the field of Space and Space related knowledge exchange and education.

Why should your company get involved?

  • To connect with ambitious, talented students from various backgrounds and nationalities.
  • To share your valuable knowledge, insights, skills and experiences with our students.
  • To receive fresh perspectives on case studies.
  • To increase your brand awareness.
  • To get in touch with experts in the field and researchers of Leiden-Delft-Erasmus universities.
  • To potentially bring in new and enthusiastic employees with the latest knowledge and a fresh critical view.

If you have any questions about existing projects or you’re looking for new opportunities, please feel free to get in touch with Peter Batenburg, our LDE Space for Science & Society programme manager via e-mail p.a.w.batenburg@tudelft.nl.

Our Projects

Thesis Labs

In Thesis Labs master’s students from various disciplines work together in a team on an interdisciplinary challenge alongside their individual thesis project. These challenges are submitted by companies, governmental organisations or different space-related departments of the Leiden-Delft-Erasmus universities. At the end of the programme, the results of the challenge will be presented to the case holder(s) and stakeholder(s).

Summer School

LDE NL Space Campus Summer School provides a hands-on experience in the Dutch Space sector to bachelor’s and master’s students from Dutch and international universities without any prior knowledge of space topics. This 7-day programme introduces participants to space organisations like ESA ESTEC, Westend, TNO, Demcon, S[&]T, SRON, and Airbus, helping students understand the basics of space topics and recent developments. Beyond space topics, the Space Summer School emphasises personal growth through team-building exercises, workshops, and collaborative activities. Working within interdisciplinary teams of individuals with backgrounds in marketing, instrumentation, science, law, engineering, business, and more, students undertake projects throughout the week guided by space experts. At the week’s conclusion, teams present their innovative solutions to their client.
